These are pictures of our campsite at Roosevelt Lake, AZ. The area that we are in is called Bermuda Flats. This area is separated into two areas, North & South Horse Pasture. We are in the North Horse Pasture region.

The second picture is a closer photo of our site.

This picture is our new friends, Bill & Ethel who were in between us and the lake front. The water kept rising and they decided to get away. They moved to a nicer loscation.

Here is our view presently across the lake.

Had some rain last night and a bit of sprinkles today.

At least we'll have some more of our riends arriving today. One of them will bring his Kawasaki dirt bike so we'll get some riding in tomorrow.

Good! Life is still good!

Joe's son-in-law takes video for those memories of the occassion. Linda wasn't able to attend since she was still in San Leandro at the Kindred Hospital for surgery, and the subsequent recovery that was required. She would have enjoyed the evening at the winery to help to celebrate Joe Morgan's 70th birthday.

Our dinner was especially delicious and even the coffee allowed for yet more opportunity to do some more visiting with old friends and Joe's family. Posted by Picasa

Joe & Lucy, brother, sister-in-law, son and wife and friends all around as they were all enjoying their wine and visiting. RENEWING RELATIONSHIPS, AND WHO BELONGS TO WHOM, WAS A BIT CHALLENGING FOR ME AS I HADN'T SEEN SOME OF THESE PEOPLE FOR MANY YEARS!

Finally, my memory started to come back to me. Nmaes and faces started to make some sense...

A great evening! Posted by Picasa

I can't believe that my high school "best bud" has made it to 70 years of age!
Lovely Lucy had planned a wonderful party with friends, and family. They came from all over the USA and other parts of the world. Like me, they weren't dissappointed, because Lucy had planned a lavish and delicious evening for everyone at a very unique and appropriate winery in the Livermore Valley.

Remembe
Always remember to bring friends with you if you plan to do something dumb in the Arizona desert!

Finally, the boat is off of the Van, with my 15 hp Johnson Outboard mounted, gas tank onboard, seat in place, paddles in their place, tackle and fishing poles in place and the bait at the ready.... time to go fishing!

This picture was taken at our campsite (#4) at Salmon Falls reservoir near Rogerson, ID.

We used to have a beautiful view of the Quartzsite desert floor, that was until this thoughtless rear neighbor decided to build this monstrosity which entrirely blocked our view!

The new owners have made their plans for new construction evident by laying out tape to demark their intentions. It will be interesting to go back next year to see what they have done with the property.

Yep! ... And here's to good fortune & to your continued good health!!
We're Rod & Linda Payne and we have been doing this "full timing thing" in our "Retirement Home", a 37' Fleetwood Discovery Diesel Pusher Motor Home, since we sold our Insurance business and our home in Morada, CA. That's a very small unincorporated area between Stockton and Lodi, CA.
We started fulltiming in 1997 using a 40' Hitchhiker 5th wheel travel trailer. We also pull a handicap equipped Ford Van with a 13'4" Gregor boat on top and a Suzuki DRZ400S street legal dirt bike mounted to the back on a MotoTote carrier. We are fully self-contained and can usually last for many weeks with out services.
Usually we can be found by seearching on our satellite link http://tinyurl.com/f5bb2

There's something to be said
about good fires!

.... And that something is that "It just don't get 'no gooder' than a beautiful evening that you can share with your best friends, in the whole world!"

LOOK AT THAT MOON, WOULD YOU?!!

That's (L to R) Frank, Pat 'n "Sam", AHHDREEANNE* 'n Gwen, Bill and then Rose. (* That's Adrian to you 'less you're an Aussie.)

What a great evening we shared!

The Good Times still continue to enchant us!!

Gone, but not forgotten, Sharon Shaffer ...

We enjoyed our Christmas dinner with Sharon on 12/25/2004.

It was a gorgeous day and, as usual, the food couldn't have been any better. We also had enough to feed the residents of the next two counties I'm sure!!

'Safe journey, Sharon!
You'll not be forgotten. Posted by Picasa

Here's another picture of Sharon Shaffer's Special Spot Posted by Picasa

Sharon Shaffer's Special Spot
Sharon will be missed by all of her BoonDocking friends.

Over the years, she became a special friend. She was always ready to help anyone in need. Now she has gone on ahead to the best camp site of them all, I just hope that she puts in a good word with the Host for our later arrival.

PS: Sharon, like you, we won't be needing any of those hookups either, thankyou.

Oh, we'll tend to your special spot for you when we're in the area. So don't be concerened.

Ken, (our youngest) & his co-working colleague, Brian ....
had heard about the Marvelous Breakfasts being served by the 'Desert Dude' wearing the red jacket and the western hat.

Acting against their better judgement, they decided to 'chance-it' and stop in at the 'Desert Dude's' Retirement Home for some morning grub.

They did this before they left to tackle those El Golfo Beaches in Mexico using Brian's Yamaha dirt bikes.

I was glad to see them both, but was also disappointed not to be able to spend more time with our terriffic #2 son.

Thanks for the visit.. let's do it again real soon but for a longer time though!

The Good Life is good, indeed!

Here are some pictures of the Bouse Gathering ...
I think that if you double click on each of the pictures in the "collage" that you'll see an enlarged picture that'll be easier to see the details.

Great weather and a good gathering of the "troops". All together, we had 25 attendees.

Retirement Life continues to be good!

HOME, Home On the Range ....-
Here are some photos of the site that we enjoyed at the Bouse Rendezvous. The rig's are CB's, then MaryLou Knack, and out of sight is Doug's and then our Ford Van which is behind our Motor Home.

Pretty day and nice view!

Life continues to be good! Posted by Picasa

Doug, 'Doc', 'CB', & Rick & Ellen were the first to arrive at the Bouse Rendezvous .... and then we arrived to round out the party!

What can just be seen, on the table in front of 'Doc', is the treat that he had prepared for our consumption. Turned out to be black beans & rice that he had cooked in his pressure cooker for all of us to enjoy.

Linda , wearing her new Corona Cap, is already digging in to the food.

('CB' doesn't realize that his picture is now being published for the internet world to see... so much for the Witness Protection Program security issues!!) Posted by Picasa

Greeting More Friends at the Bouse Rendezvous
It was great to 'catch up' with good friends again.
(L to R) Ellen & Rick Yarker from northeastern Canada,
Doug Hubbard from Kentucky,
"Doc" Schumaker from Tennessee, and "CB" Williams from Colorado.

"CB" seems rather shy about having his picture taken.... It's something to do with the "Witness Protection Program" we think!!

Here are Bob and Kay Miller
They are from Cherry Tree, PA and have been camping with the Boondockers for many seasons.

We enjoyed this last opportunity with them at Ogilby Road at "Mabels' Rendezvous. When we left them they were about the last ones to remain at the site.

Great friends!

Doug & Marty Wyrich stop by to say hello! Marty was a blessing.
When they showed up at our door we were pleased to see them again.

It had been a couple of years since we had seen them. Marty had been a nurse. When she discovered the state of Linda's pressure sores, she had advice for us. Later, she returned with medical supplies and saw to the treatment for us. Lindas' sores had been a constant mess for the past 8 months and wasn't showing any improvement. In a matter of 4 or 5 days, Marty's treatment had worked!! The cure? HONEY on the pressure sore.
Now, "ain't" that sweet? Thanks Marty, you angel!
